New Delhi: Ashutosh Gowariker's historical saga, Jodhaa Akbar, releases on Friday. Though the movie has been mired in controversy, expectations from the film are running high. Friday Feb 15 9:40 AM
The film, set in 16th century is the love story of mughal emperor Akbar, a Muslim, and rajput princess Jodhaa a Hindu, played by Hrithik Roshan and Aishwarya Rai Bachchan respectively.
Akbar's world revolves around making conquests and furthering his empire, that is until he meets Jodhaa and his world shifts from winning battles to winning Jodhaa's love.
The film is caught in controversies over its factual accuracy with the Rajput community claiming that Jodhaa was Akbar's son, Jehangir's wife and not Akbar's wife.
The period epic that has been in the making for over two and a half years has music by A R Rahman and lyrics by Javed Akhtar.
