Irrfan Khan and Rahul Bose will grace the screen together in Indian Film's new venture titled Bubblegum. Their's is a never-before seen pair and given their acting talent, one is sure that the duo will light up the screen with their fireworks. But interestingly, both actors were chosen for different roles in the film but went ahead and exchanged their roles.
The film which is being directed by debutant director Anil Sharma, is about two urban couples. Rahul apparently wanted to play Irrfan's character and Irrfan was fascinated by Rahul's. Since both of them loved each other's roles, the director just decided to swap the roles. While narrating the script to Rahul, he found that the actor kept asking him about the other character, Rishi, who is a lecturer in a media college. After the narration, Rahul said that he wanted to play the role of Rishi as it was more dramatic and he had not done something like that before. The director confesses to being a little skeptical when he went back to Irrfan and told him about Rahul's request. It seems that Irrfan burst out laughing and said that he wanted to play the character of Samit, an investment banker, a character that was to be originally played by Rahul. Irrfan felt that he had never done an understated role before. Now, one week into the shooting, Sharma is left wondering how could he have seen them otherwise as they are brilliant in their respective characters. Because of the change, Irrfan will be acting opposite Soha Ali Khan, who plays his wife in the movie. The other members of the cast in this film are Konkona Sen Sharma and Rahul Khanna.
