London, Feb 17 (IANS) Beatles legend Sir Paul McCartney refused to duet with rocker Ozzy Osbourne at the 2008 Brit Awards.

Contactmusic.com reports that Osbourne, who will host the show on Feb 20 with his wife Sharon, was thrilled when he heard first that he would be singing with McCartney. But McCartney will instead perform solo.

McCartney said: 'You can either go for something wow or just do a couple of hits - I've opted for the latter. I'm quite happy to be just doing stuff that I hope the audience will like.'

'This year will be outstanding - because Osbourne is presenting,' he added.
