Mumbai: Hollywood awards it's worst with the Razzies, so an FM station decided to do the desi dishonours by taking a dig at everything from films to celebs to cricketers.Wednesday Feb 27 5:31 PM
And the first to have an opinion on it was singer Mika. “These awards are humorous. I just couldn’t stop laughing. Maybe the Red FM guys are scared of me and that’s why they did not nominate me,” Mika said.
The Bajaate Raho awards in Mumbai began with the usual performances, comic acts and saw Ram Gopal Varma bag two awards in the bravery and most-hyped-film-before-release category for his box office bombs – Nishabd and Ram Gopal Varma Ki Aag respectively.
Not surprisingly, the director wasn't present to receive it, but a lookalike more than compensated for RGV’s absence.
Ramu wasn’t the only one at the receiving end. Other winners included the several-centuries-old Baa of Kyunki Saas Bhi Kabhi Bahu Thi – for her never say die spirit and Deepika Padukone for her reported flings with cricketers Mahinder Singh Dhoni and Yuvraj Singh.
But nominees aside who would the celebs themselves want to take a dig at? Bappi Laheri said, “During my heydays maine bahuton ki baajai hai.”
Item girl Rakhi Sawant was also spotted at the event but was soon seen leaving in a hurry after Mika took to the stage.
