Mumbai: It was a rock-n-roll start for Rolling Stone magazine as their Indian edition was launched. Thursday Feb 28 1:26 PM
The launch party witnessed an overwhelming response from as many as 24 bands dishing out charged up performances.
"It’s going to serve as a great platform for many young music bands and this is also one of our main purposes,” says editor and publisher, Radhakrishnan Nair.
But can an international music magazine stay away from the magical word called Bollywood?
"Well Bollywood is a essential part of India. There will be a flavour of it in the magazine as well,” says Editor- in- Chief, Anuradha Mahindra.
The launch attracted biggies like Kamala Hassan whose daughter put up a sizzling performance, Madhavan, composer Vishal and Leslie Lewis among others.
"Indian audiences have always been mature. It is nothing new for them,” says Hasan.
"I think introducing Rolling Stone magazine will definitely drive Indian people towards it especially when it right here on the shelves and more for people who love this kinda stuff,” says singer, Leslie Lewis.
And apart from promises to have an Indian twist, the first issue of the Indian edition of the magazine will also give you an option of five different covers.
