Barton not joining 'Gossip Girl'

London, March 1 (IANS) Actress Mischa Barton, who shot to fame as the star of the hit TV show 'The OC', has denied reports that she is joining the soap 'Gossip Girl'.

Barton was offered a role in the show but declined, reports contactmusic.com.

A spokesperson for Barton said: 'She will not be on the show. She was approached, but decided against it.'
