It's been a season of actors either shedding or weight or working on developing a six-pack body. Actor Atul Kulkarni, however, was asked to put on weight for his role in Dilli 6 by director Rakesh Mehra.
The actor was asked to put on 10 kilos for his role as the director wanted him to have a healthier look in the movie. The actor was given two months to gain the needful weight. Kulkarni recalls that his whole life revolved around eating, exercising and sleeping for two full months. The actor says that his body is such that he finds it difficult to put on weight and maintain it thereafter. However, he tends to lose weight very easily. He gives all credit to his trainer for helping him put on the required weight in such a short period. The actor's regime for the two months included getting up at 5.30 in the morning after drinking a few litres of water and a huge portion of boiled potatoes and almonds. After a workout of two to three hours, he would demolish egg whites. The actor was on a high protein diet as he did not want to pile on fat. It seems that he had to consume food every hour containing a huge dose of carbohydrates, proteins and starch. So his diet included stuff like bananas, honey, brown bread, dry fruit laddos and ice-creams. We are sure that there will be many who would like exchange places with him.
