The fracas over Vidya Balan's terrible costumes in Heyy Babyy has yet to die down. Following the conferring of the Nariyal award on her in jest by Shah Rukh Khan and Saif Ali Khan for her terrible dress style at the Filmfare award function, the actress blamed it all on designer Manish Malhotra. In fact, in the past year, she has hit out at the designer on several occasions for disastrous look. Now it is Manish's turn to hit back.
Apparently, it seems that her comments at the Filmfare function were the last straw for Malhotra. The designer fumes that never in his 17-year-long career has any actress made such an issue about his styling sense. He said that he had been keeping quiet for a while now despite the actress leaving no stone unturned in blasting him. He turns the tables on her and wonders about her disastrous dress sense at the Filmfare awards function. What about the make-up, the hair-style or the costume, she sported at the event, he asks. It looked more like something that people wore during the Eighties, he scorned. Malhotra says that if the actress felt his styling was not right for the film, she could have always called him, as he was just a telephone call away. He is specially upset at Balan's statement that he apologized to her for his botched up work. According to Malhotra, all he did was send her a text message saying that he is hoped they could work together again and that sometimes some clothes don't work on location. He says he never texted her after that but she went ahead and told everybody that he had apologized to her. He feels that if she had a problem with his clothes, then she should have called him and not gone to public with it.
