Rowling in court again, demanding ban on son's pic

London, March 11 (ANI): Harry Potter author J. K. Rowling appeared in court on Monday in a last-ditch attempt to get an injunction banning the media from publishing a picture of her son David, which was clicked on a family outing when the child was 18 months old.

Rowling's previous attempt before a London High Court went futile with the court ruling against her in August last year.

The writer has filed the suit against photo agency Big Pictures under her married name of Joanne Murray along with her husband Neil.

While representing the couple at London's Civil Appeal Court on Monday, their solicitor Richard Spearman QC claimed that child's right to privacy had been infringed.

"This claim is not about the rights of adults, this is about the rights of the child," the BBC quoted Spearman as saying.

The photo agency, on the other hand, claimed that there was no proof that the child had been hurt.

"The reality is that claimants' lawyers have never been able to identify any concrete way in which the child has been harmed," Mark Warby QC, representing the company, said.

When the photo was clicked in 2004 in Edinburgh, the family was unaware of it.

The Sunday Express magazine had printed the photograph alongside an article about Rowling's approach to motherhood.

Rowling now wants damages for infringement of privacy, and an injunction banning further publication of the photograph. (ANI)
