It took a Supreme Court to set aside all the protests against JODHAA AKBAR and the Hon'ble Court ordered that the film couldn't be banned for the reasons that were brandied by the various authorities of various state governments to ban the film. JODHAA AKBAR has emerged as one of the biggest hits of the year 2008. Major contribution in making JODHAA AKBAR a hit has been made by the overseas territory.

One unique feature of JODHAA AKBAR which has not been highlighted by the creators of this epic work that this film in conjunction with Tanishq jewellery has played a monumental role in reviving the traditional craft of jewel making as it existed during the times of Mughals. Such has been the painstaking effort taken by Ashutosh Gowarikar and has party to authentically reproduce the jewellery of the period that it has brought out in an outstanding way the richness of the cultural exuberance of the period. Those who have been protesting against the movie instead ought to have felt proud about the fact that JODHAA AKBAR has repositioned the glory of the period of their ancestors, by painstakingly trying to revive the era through authentic reproduction of jewels of the Mughal times.

Those were the times, when the richness of culture and stylization found its most vivid exposition through the jewels adorned by the rulers and the nobles of the court. The same ambience has been created through the efforts of Ashutosh Gowarikar and his team through JODHAA AKBAR.

While foreign tourists had been thronging the deserts of Rajasthan and were being provided an opportunity to have a view about this rich cultural tradition of the country, the broad banding of this jewel of Indian history to the country and the world outside, the common man so to say, has been done majorly owing to JODHAA AKBAR.

Those who have been opposing JODHAA AKBAR should be made aware that Ashutosh Gowarikar utilized the services of 200 designers and quite a large number of artisans to create more than 400 exquisite pieces of jewels for the film. The film has emerged as the medium of publicity for their craft world over, and has been a much needed shot in the arm for traditional craftsperson who have not been able to stand up to the advancement of technology and preference of modern and minimalist jewellery. Post JODHAA AKBAR the scenario may change.

The myopic approach to historical issues, and the reactionary attitude to anything that goes against the convention create such a non-osmotic membrane, which takes an intervention of a Supreme Court to remove it, but in the bargain the uniqueness of the era in terms of cultural richness, tends to get side tracked. May be, when protests emanate these are the facts that need to be highlighted, as the protests tend to drown down the efforts of a common man who gets a chance like this in a life time to display his acumen on such a large scale as a film of JODHAA AKBAR that may provide him with an international opportunity to kindle the interest of the world in his craft. It is a craft which has been consigned into the annals of history, and therefore it took a research for Ashutosh Gowarikar to put it across, and once this has been efforts like these need to be appreciated as it is also a cinematic statement about Incredible India.
