New Delhi, March 15 (IANS) A brigade of celebrities including Celina Jaitley, Soha Ali Khan, Sophie Chaudhary, Zayed Khan and style guru Manish Malhotra walked the ramp, providing ample Bollywood flavour to the fourth day of the ongoing Wills India Fashion Week here Saturday.

While Celina cat-walked for Khushali Kumar in a long, heavily embroidered purple dress, the other stars set the ramp ablaze for designer Manav Gangwani at the Wills Lifestyle India Fashion Week (WIFW).

'I love the outfit that Khushali gave me,' Celina said. 'She has tastefully embellished the chiffon, sheer net dress with intricate embroidery on the back, arms and front.'

For the collection, Khushali had skilfully created textures and surfaces through crumpled and smoked effects, pleating, quilting and metallic acetates. Other fabrics used included georgettes and embroidered laces.

The colour palette ranged from powder pinks, muted beiges, hints of pale blue to eternal blacks.

While silhouettes were both fitted and flowing, there were also short dresses, floor length gowns, off shoulder and skin-tight dresses.

'I had drawn inspiration for my collection from the luxurious styled gowns for the Oscar's, modern art, Japanese floral prints and trance and rock culture,' she said.

An amalgamation of the essence of Sunset Street in Los Angeles and the movie 'Sunset Boulevard' inspired Manav Gangwani. The street is known for its glitzy nightlife, restaurants and nightclubs.

'My collection defines the rich, famous, glamorous and ultra chic people. It is more of evening and cocktail wear,' Gangwani said.

Asked why he incorporated four celebrities for the show, he said: 'If you follow the movie, there are four characters in it and so to portray that I had four of my best friends walk the ramp for my show.'

The colour palette encompassed black, coral, ivory, burgundy, grey and mossy green.

The show kicked off with Soha walking the ramp, flaunting an ivory coral dress with orange sequins embroidery. Models then sashayed down the runway decked in balloon sleeved jackets, net sleeved dresses, bubble jackets, gathered and textured dresses, long and cropped jackets, pleated bubble skirts and blouses of varied styles and designs.

The men's collection offered digitally printed, bubble 'bandgala' jackets, trousers and shirts with broaches.

'My men's wear line is a bridge line between classic and contemporary,' he explained.

Fashion guru Malhotra was next, wearing a black jacket with purple applique embroidery teamed with black trousers.

Sophie then walked in donning a black bubble dress, made of 60 metres of cloth. 'It is very heavy,' remarked Sophie.

Zayed Khan concluded the show sporting a black velvet jacket with intricate orange embroidery teamed with straight trousers.

Coral embroidery, sequins work, mother of pearl buttons, beads, Swarovski crystals teamed with jewel pieces inspired from the Russian Czarist times were used to embellish the garments.

Fabrics like plush silks, chiffons, velvets, satins, translucent nets and georgettes were used to craft women's wear while Malhotra used silks, felts, satins, wool, Italian fabrics and pure cottons for his men's line.
