The launch of Suriya’s next film, Ayan, at the AC floor in AVM Studios this morning was a formal affair. Almost the entire team turned up to meet the press and spoke about their roles in the film.
Ayan stars Suriya and Tamanna in the lead roles with a strong supporting cast that includes Prabhu, Jagan and Karunas, among others. The film is produced by the prestigious AVM Productions and directed by cinematographer-turned-director K.V. Anand. Music for the film is by Harris Jayaraj.
Director K.V. Anand said that the film would present a different facet of Suriya’s acting. He also talked about the title which means 'an outstanding person' in Tamil. Lyricist Vairamuthu was of the opinion that today’s directors should avail the services of writers to bring more weight to the storyline. He praised Anand for bringing in writer Suba for the film.
Suriya expressed his happiness at being a part of K.V. Anand’s film and added that he had missed starring in Anand’s earlier film, Kana Kanden, by a whisker. Tamanna thanked Anand for placing his trust in her and hoped that she would do justice to his expectations. She was also happy to star in an AVM film at an early stage in her career.
Ayan has already generated a buzz in Kollywood as it brings together some of the best names in Kollywood. The shooting will start by May, when Suriya wraps up his current project Vaaranamaayiram. Here is wishing the Ayan team good luck in their venture.
