Sandhya is being accused for accepting roles that are too old for her. However, she seems to be one actress who boldly accepts these older roles.
Speaking about the mother- character she plays in Thoondil, Sandhya said that many had censured by many for accepting the role. Answering their criticism, she said that it was absolutely suitable for her age. She also rued that it is five years since Kadhal happened, so it is natural for her to move on to more meaningful cinema.
Desperate to shed the schoolgirl image that she portrayed in Kadhal, she is now looking for more challenging and different roles.
While in T Twenty, a Malayalam film, she plays a negative role, in the Tamil film Mahesh, Saranya Mattrum Palar, she has donned a different character altogether.
