Though the recent rains had helped to give the Chennaiites a welcome break from the hot scorching Sun and an increase of water table all over, the unseasonal monsoon was also responsible in generating diverse woes from different segments of people.

For majority of the farmers, the floods have spoilt their crops while for the people from film industry, it is a different set of misery altogether.

The most affected film due to these rains is the Jeyam Ravi starrer Peraanmai directed by Jananadhan produced by Ayngaran International. The unit was using giant lights, helicom camera and loads of such high tech equipments and was conducting the shooting at the southern districts of Tamil Nadu when the rains broke out.

The sudden and incessant showers have prompted the unit to close all their operations for the time being and call ‘pack up’. Looks like, once the weather stabilizes, the unit will resume their shooting.
