Neil Nitin Mukesh has finally bagged an award. The newcomer, whose debut film Johnny Gaddar created quite a ripple, failed to win the best debutant award at some of the prestigious award ceremonies like Filmfare and Screen awards.

In fact, though his debut was impressive, Neil was totally overshadowed by Ranbir Kapoor, who stole the thunder at literally every award function so far. It was him and Deepika all the way. But Neil's wait seems to have paid off. At the Producers Guild Apsara Awards, the actor was awarded for Best Actor in a Negative Role. The other contenders for the award were Viveik Oberoi for Shootout At Lokhandwala, Kay Kay Menon (Life In A Metro), Arjun Rampal for Om Shanti Om and Shilpa Shukla for Chake De India). The competition was quite tough with Neil's performance measured against veterans' like Vivek and Kay Kay. But luck was on the side of our Johnny and he must be quite pleased to have his performance lauded at the Apsara Awards.
