Nandan, son of ace director Mani Ratnam and his wife actor director Suhasini, has supposedly found his calling in a diametrically opposite field from that of his family.
Spotted at the 19th All India Congress of the Communist Party of India in Coimbatore, this 17 year old former Mylapore Vidya Mandir student was serving as a volunteer at the meet.
He has also authored a 27 page pamphlet on Leninism, titled contours of Leninism which is on sale at the venue along with other red literature.
When talked to, Nandan said that his interest in reading has attracted him to Marx and his principles. According to him, Marxism is the most cogent, comprehensive and highly developed complex of theory and practice. To a question on his parent’s reaction to this, the teenager was not very sure of the same.
