The makers and distributors of last week's release, ONE TWO THREE, must be heaving a sigh of relief. The undisclosed secret is that their movie has managed to escape the wrath of the Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister, Mayawati. Here are the interesting details.

As per our Lucknow based sources, actress Neetu Chandra plays an earthy character, Mayawati Yadav in the Ashwani Dhir directed comedy flick. Sources close to the U.P Chief Minister conveyed to her that the film ONE TWO THREE has tried to make fun of the honourable CM and has thus tarnished her image, by using her name. Upon hearing this, four top officials were rushed to watch the film at Lucknow's Novelty Cinema, last weekend. Thankfully, they found nothing offensive in the light hearted comedy. They reported back that Neetu plays a Haryanvi cop whose first name is similar to the Chief Minister and mouths a line which goes like this- "Mhara naam Mayawati Yadav se", (My name is Mayawati Yadav) and then carries on beating her own trumpet. There is no reference directly or indirectly and no similarities at all to the U.P. CM. This satisfied the temperamental CM and thus ONE TWO THREE escaped Mayawati's anger and a probable ban in U.P. and other states!

So, there must be double joy for all concerned with ONE TWO THREE, as the film has been declared a reasonable success, based on its moderate pricing and satisfactory opening week.
