Pyramid Saimira, an organization that owns several theatres across the globe, producers of movies and film distributors, is on a benevolent mission.
This organization has decided to give an opportunity to impoverished producers to produce a film. In all, about 24 producers have been selected. Upcoming directors would direct these films.
The inaugural function of this event was held in Chennai in which 10 film producers were given the opportunity. The projects of the remaining 14 producers would commence next month, says sources. Those benefited by this gesture include Kovai Thambi’s Motherland Pictures, Amudha Durairajan’s Deivanai Movie Makers, Sangili Murugan’s Meenatchi Arts, Ramanathan’s Raj Films International, Radha Ravi’s PRR Art Enterprises among others. “Jeyam” Ravi, Sathyaraj, Sibiraj, Vijayakumar, Bharath, Jeevan, Prasanna, Murali, Parthiban and Sundar. C handed over the project to each of the beneficiaries.
Speaking at the function, Radha Ravi said that this gesture is a morale booster. “After having produced a film 14 years ago without much success, I had been idle all this while, but with the backing of Pyramid Saimira, I am tempted to approach director Shankar his dates,” he said humorously. He also jocularly remarked that S.A. Chandrasekar should help him get Vijay’s call sheet for the film.
