New Delhi, April 11 (IANS) It seems actor Vikas Bhalla has decided to be a jack of all trades. After trying his luck in films, television and music, he has launched a production house and is making programmes for one Canadian and two Pakistani TV channels.

'The excitement of being instrumental in creating great entertainment prodded me to come up with my own production house - Rat Race Entertainment. We are making a daily soap for a Canadian national channel and two family dramas for two Pakistani channels, among others in the pipeline,' Vikas told IANS.

'We are also producing documentaries for the international market and hope to produce some good quality films as well,' he added.

The three-month-old production house is also producing two shows - 'Bol Bachan' and 'Pixtionary' - for Indian channels Zee and etc network.

'Whether it's TV, movies, music, documentaries, corporate films, radio software, live events, or anything else related to entertainment, I want my production company to be a one-stop shop for high quality production.'

The actor, who started his film career with 'Sauda', couldn't achieve much success on the big screen. Later he did some TV serials like 'Tum Bin Jaun Kahan' and 'Shanno Ki Shaadi'.

A trained classical singer, Vikas got desired results as a singer. His first album 'Dhuan' was a hit. After a long sabbatical of 10 years, he once again enthralled music buffs with another album 'Mehak Teri'.

Currently, he is working on his next music album. The yet-to-be-titled album would be his home production and Vikas plans to direct its music video too.

'I've just started working on the album so it is a little premature to talk about it. However, this one is definitely going to be a hardcore dance album...totally for the masses. I'll be directing the music video in my forthcoming album,' said the singer, who was reluctant to divulge any further details.

Speaking about what music means to him, he said: 'Music is religion for me. It gives me peace of mind, which is extremely important in our profession where one goes through so much stress. When I sit with my tanpura and do my 'riyaaz' in the morning, I transcend into another world.'

However, upset with the bad state of the country's pop music industry, Vikas laments that it is a dead genre.

'The current music scenario is so unfortunate that music companies have stopped investing in talent.

The actor, who was last seen in the film 'Marigold' and 'Pyaar Mein Twist', has UTV's next in his kitty.
