One cannot remember any other director who has been so severely bashed by the media and public as director Ram Gopal Verma, specially after the debacle of films like Ram Gopal Verma Ki Aag and Darling last year. But 2008 promises to be the year when Ramu is all set to bounce back and vindicate his detractors.
First of all, Ramu has Sarkar Raj lined for release in June. The film is much talked about as it has Abhishek Bachchan and his wife Aishwarya appearing together for the first time after marriage. And then, of course, there is Amitabh Bachchan. Ramu has two more films lined up, Phoonk and Contract, both of which are complete and will be released after Sarkar Raj. And if that's not all, the director is believed to be working on three scripts, all of which he plans to start and finish by the end of the year. One of them is supposedly based on the life and time of sandalwood dacoit Veerappan. The other two are thrillers. We are sure hope that Ramu has rediscovered his midas touch and will continue to give us memorable films like Company, Sarkar and Satya.
