Always known to give a powerful performance no matter what the role, Shabana Azmi has attributed her versatile image to the types of roles she has been given specifically in the last 10 years. As she puts it "This is an era where all types of films are being made for every kind of audience, and an actor has full freedom to choose the role of their choice. So I think it's the best period in cinema and I don't want to miss any opportunity that comes in front of me". Rumors are strife that she will be playing Benazir Bhutto in her next film but when we asked her to confirm the rumor she replied "My lips are sealed and I cannot disclose anything to anyone right now". After a huge gap, her husband, lyricists and renowned writer Javed Akhtar (who along with writing partner Salim, gave many super hit scripts before they parted ways and Akhtar went on to become a leading lyricist) has completed work on two scripts for which he is now on the verge of locking his negotiations with well known producers of Bollywood.
