Kareena Overtakes Kajol

Kareena Kapoor seems to be the new uncrowned Queen of Bollywood. She has become the hot favourite amongst filmmakers and brands alike while also collecting most of the awards this year as well. Rumour has it that the latest feather in her cap is that she will feature in Ajay Devgan's second directorial venture which he's likely to announce very soon. The actor director whose U, Me aur Hum with wife Kajol generated a mixed response from both audiences and critics, is reportedly all set to direct another film and this time, he has opted for Kareena instead of Kajol. Ajay and Kareena's pair was a hit in Omkara and distributors would clearly want to cash in on their chemistry. Ajay, too, wants to recreate that magic with his second directorial venture. The two are also starring in Ashtavinayak's Golmaal Returns which is set for release later this year.

But it seems as though not only has Kareena stepped into a role that most thought would be only for Kajol, it also looks like Karan Johar's backup for My Name Is Khan starring SRK is Kareena. Everyone knows that Karan has been keen on bringing the SRK and Kajol jodi back together for his film, but since Kajol has been non committal about it so far stating she will only decide once she has read the script, Karan has started looking at options in case Kajol says no. Kajol had also said no for Karan's last film, Kabhi Alvida Naa Kehna, in which Rani took on the role originally meant for Kajol. This time rumour has it that if Kajol turns down the role, Karan is set to offer it to Kareena who has been dying to be paired opposite SRK every since they did Asoka together. Let's see how much truth there is to both these rumours, especially since Kareena is admittedly a die hard Kajol fan herself.
