For the music launch of Jaane Tu Ya Jaane Na, he decided to do away with any big party and kept to the tradition of presenting yesteryears star, Shammi Kapoor, with the first music CD of the film.

This is a tradition that Aamir has followed. He did the same for the music launch of Taare Zameen Par as well. The veteran actor was a close friend of Aamir's uncle Nasir Hussain, and acted in many of his films like Tumsa Nahin Dekha and Teesri Manzil. It was his uncle who produced Qaymat Se Qayamat Tak, Aamir's first film as well. Aamir has a lot of respect for Shammi Kapoor and in fact, even considers him as his lucky mascot. Hen ce, he decided to stick to tradition and sought the senior actor's blessings for his nephew, Imran's debut. Incidentally, it is thanks to hi injury that Aamir is able to devote so much time for his nephew's launch. Since Aamir's injury on the sets of Ghajini has him out of action for a while, he is utilizing it to the fullest by looking after all the promotional activities of Jaane Tu. The injury could not have come at a better time for Aamir.
