It's been said before but our Hindi film industry folks do not seem to want to do things differently. Biggies still insist on releasing their films together on the same day, like the famous Gaddar and Lagaan clash. But in a year like this, where the movies are clashing at the box office, surely it would make sense to avoid such clashes.
The year has already seen Ajay Devgan's U Me Aur Hum clashing with Krazzy 4 at the box office in April. The next big clash is set for July 4, when two debutant actors will be clashing for honours. Harman Baweja's Love Story 2050 is all set to release along with Imraan Khan's Jaane Tu Ya Jaane Na. The next clash at the box office is predicted to be that between God Tussi Great Ho and Bachna Ae Haseeno. While God Tussi Great Ho stars Amitabh Bachchan, Salman Khan and Priyanka Chopra, Yash Raj's Bachna Ae Haseeno will see Ranbir Kapoor, Bipasha Basu, Deepika Padukone and Minissha Lamba. And the list just doesn't end here. October 2 will see Himesh Reshammiya's Karzzz clashing with Sanjay Gadhvi's Kidnap starring Sanjay Dutt and Imraan Khan. The mother of all clashes is set for the end of the year. The two Khans, Shah Rukh and Aamir will take each other on in this one as Rab Ne Bana Di Jodi will clash with Ghajini at the box office on December 12. Generally, when two big films release together, they eat into each other's business. It doesn't do the industry any good in the long run. So will someone look at the larger picture please.
