To be honest, when the first promos of TUJHE MERI KASAM were aired in 2003, most thought that Ritesh was another influential youngster, trying to cash in on his father's name and become a hero. But, all were proved wrong. Today, after a span of only five years, Ritesh Deshmukh has made a name for himself, by the sheer dint of his labour (and talent!) and without any help from his Chief Minister father.Ritesh may not be one of the top five stars of Bollywood at present, but his name does add prestige and commercial value to a product. In this lean period, where even a good to decent opening is a hard task for a small banner film, Ritesh has done it again and that too with a badly made and delayed movie, DE TAALI. Yes, even with a bunched release, the E Niwas directed film has netted a decent 7.5 crores, beating the other two films that released along with it, by almost 7 crores! Ritesh's hold over his home territory, Bombay circuit is amazing and the movie has netted almost 2 crores from just Bombay-Thane.
Well, with a slew of hits to his credit Ritesh is definitely here to stay.
