Even Rani Mukherjee and Saif Ali Khan could not work their magic at the box office this week. Kunal Kohli's Thoda Pyaar thoda Magic, the big release of the week, apparently failed to strike a chord with the audiences. The film's opening was around 30 per cent only. But this was in Mumbai. Outside the city, elsewhere in the country, the film took a real bashing with an opening of only 15 to 20 per cent in the northern territories.
The two other releases of the week, Via Darjeeling and Thoda Life Thoda Magic fared even worse at the box office. They were non starters. The last week's releases, De Taali, Haal e Dil and Khushboo can now safely be labeled as flops. The week ahead holds much promise, as next Friday will see two debutants taking their first steps into Bollywood. Abbas Tyrewala's Jaane Tu .. Ya Jaane Na which will see Aamir Khan's nephew Imran make his debut while Harry Baweja's Love Story 2050 will see his son Harman debuting opposite ladylove Priyanka Chopra. Both films have been much hyped and much publicity has been created around both movies and their debutant actors. Coming Friday, the audience will decide the fate of the two ventures.
