The stage is set for tomorrow's battle royale at the box office between Imran Khan and Harman Baweja; between Jaane Tu.. Ya Jaane Na and Love Story 2050.
A lot of eyes will be focused on the fate of these two films. Both camps have gone all out to promote their films and now there is nothing more that they can do besides waiting. But really the actual winner if both films work would be the industry and the ultimate looser too would be the industry if the films flop. It's common knowledge that the industry is going through a particularly lean phase. In the last six months, only two films are believed to have hit the bull's eye. The first was Ashutosh Gowariker's Jodha Akbar and the second was Abbas Mustan's Race, closely followed by Jannat and Sarkar Raj. According to sources, the industry's losses have been pegged at around Rs 300 crore. There are a lot of reasons for this sorry state of affairs. Inflation is being touted as being one of them, followed by poor scripts and slack promos. Be that as it may, all eyes will be on Harman and Imran tomorrow. Will they make it or won't they? A lot rests on their young shoulders. If tomorrow's outing at the box office fails, then Bollywood will have to wait for the biggies like Shah Rukh Khan's Rab Ne Bana De Jodi and Billu Barber, Aamir Khan's Ghajini, Akshay Kumar's Singh Is Kinng and Chandni Chowk To China, Abhishek Bachchan's Drona and Dilli 6 and Salman Khan's Yuvraj, God Tussi Great Ho and Hello.
