Alibaug paid the price for the feud between producer director Sanjay Gupta and Sanjay Dutt. Once things went awry between the two Sanjays, the film was the first casualty. Dutt, who was playing a pivotal role in Alibaug decided to walk out of the film and till a while back, the film was lying half complete.
But not any more. Gupta has decided to move on and complete the film. After all, Dutt has moved on as well. The film Alibaug is quite close to Gupta's heart and he is hellbent on completing it, Dutt or no Dutt. Initially, matters were on hold as it was felt that Dutt would complete his pending work in the film. But as it became clearer that the actor had no intention of associating with Gupta, the latter had to take a different view on the matter. The news is that he has roped in actor Irrfan Khan to play Dutt's role in the movie. The last shooting schedule of the film took place some six months ago. But just yesterday, Gupta, revived the film and shot for it. His next schedule will now take place in Madh island. Dutt and Gupta had worked together in almost a dozen films before their fallout.
