X is a lucky woman and very successful in the agency where she works. The clumsy Y is an unlucky aspirant manager of a rock band, who is unsuccessfully trying to contact the entrepreneur Z to promote his band. When X meets Y in a masquerade party, they kiss each other, swapping her fortune with his bad luck.And now picture this...
Y is an aspiring singer, X is a PR head in an ad agency. Success evades him at every step and success awaits her at every step. Because she had the good luck charm sealed in her kiss. And one day at a party X kisses Y by mistake and says good bye to her good luck and his life changes for good.
What you just read aren't the plotlines of a same film written differently. Instead this is a mini-synopsis of two different films, one 'desi' and one 'videsi'. It doesn't matter which are the corresponding write-ups for Hollywood and Bollywood flicks. What matters is that the Hollywood flick came 2 years back while our own 'desi' inspiration (?) is coming to theaters in a few weeks from now.
The films in question are JUST MY LUCK and GOOD LUCK.
While JUST MY LUCK starred Lindsay Lohan in lead along with Chris Pine, GOOD LUCK has Sayali Bhagat pairing up with Aryeman. The film is directed by Aditya Datt who had made his directorial debut with AASHIQ BANAYA AAPNE and followed it up with DIL DIYA HAI.
When released in 2006, JUST MY LUCK was an average success in Hollywood though it has a good DVD following even in India. A breezy outing, it was a young film that followed a typical pattern of Hollywood romcom entertainers. GOOD LUCK too is designed on the same lines, though the comedy here is expected to be louder with Ranvir Shorey, Lucky Ali, Archana Puran Singh, Sharat Saxena and Mushtaq Khan adding on to the fun quotient.
The film was earlier supposed to release today but now it would now be looking at a 1st August release along with MUKHBIIR that has been pushed as well.
