Mumbai, July 16 (IANS) Model-turned-actor Priyanshu Chatterjee has been noticed in films like 'Tum Bin' and 'Pinjar', but hasn't yet made it big. He's finally getting a break that could make things work - a film by acclaimed Bengali director Rituparno Ghosh.

Ghosh, who has worked with big names like Amitabh Bachchan, Abhishek, Aishwarya Rai and Preity Zinta, has signed on Priyanshu to play the lead role in 'Nauka Dubi', based on Rabindranath Tagore's novel by the same name.

'Rituparno is a director with whom I always wanted to work. He is a great director who has made various critically acclaimed films,' Priyanshu told IANS.

'Besides, there are no doubts about the story as it is written by one of the finest writers our country ever had,' said Priyanshu.

'The film is about wife swapping, which does not happen deliberately of course. It all happens inadvertently,' said Priyanshu, who plays a doctor.

Bengali actor Jishu plays the other husband and Riya and Raima Sen have been roped in for the female leads.

'Hopefully, Sharmila Tagore also has a role in the film,' said the actor, who was last seen in B.R. Chopra's 'Bhoothnath'.

'My role is that of a modern day Ram, who is a doctor by profession and is fond of music. He plays the pivotal role who brings all the characters together.'

The shooting for the film is set to start September and locations will include Kolkata and Varanasi.

But Priyanshu is now awaiting the release of Bobby Bedi's satirical comedy tentatively titled 'Hadbahedi', where he plays the lead. The film directed by Ranjit Kapoor has Rishi Kapoor, Saurabh Shukla and Kulraj Randhawa as part of its cast.
