There is finally hope for John Abraham, the actor, who hit a rough patch recently, found no takers for his film Aashayein, which is directed by Nagesh Kukunoor. After having one dud after another at the box office, the actor became untouchable for the distributors.
But it seems that Bhushan Kumar of T series has managed to bail him out. Bhushan, who has signed a new deal with Reliance for his next film Karz, has convinced them to buy the distribution rights of Aashayein as part of the deal. So the film, which has been produced by Percept Picture Company and T series, will finally see the light of day. Following the no show of films like Goal, No Smoking, Kabul Express and Saalam e Ishq, one after another, John was not considered a very viable option at the box office. Hence, his coming together with Kukunoor, did not melt the heart of the distributors. Even though, the music of Aashayein was released a couple of months ago by T series. At the launch, John sang along with the film's playback singers, but it did not create sufficient enough hype for the film. The film also stars newcomer Sonal Sehgal, Farida Jalal and Girish Karnad.
