This week saw just one film trying its luck at the box office. The film was Sachin Khot's Ugly Aur Pagli, which has been produced by PNC. Despite having a clear field, the film did not do great business. It had a very average opening of just 30 to 40 per cent collections on the first day.

The collections, however, did become better over the weekend, but this kind of movie which did better at the multiplexes in the metros. This Mallika Sherawat and Ranvir Shorey starrer's fate is not expected to improve drastically over the coming weeks. As for last week's releases, Mission Istaanbul and Money Hai Toh Honey Hai, the collections have only been decreasing steadily so far. While Ganesh Acharya's film is believed to have been pulled off from some theatres, Apoorva Lakhia's Mission Istaanbul too has been an aborted mission and soon on its way out as well. Kismat Konnection continues to do very well. Up next week is another biggie. This is the film which has been much awaited, Vipul Shah's Singh Is Kinng, which has been directed by Anees Bazmee and stars Akshay Kumar, Katrina Kaif and others. The songs of the film have already created a stir. Now comes the real test.
