Hema Malini has been long wanting to produce and direct a film for her daughter Esha Deol. The young actress has an almost non existent career, though she does have a film, Hijack, opposite Shiney Ahuja coming up.

But honestly speaking, Esha's career is going nowhere. Being a concerned mother, our Dream Girl decided to make a film that will have an author backed role for her daughter. But she seems to have run into problems here. Intially, Hema resisted offers of appearing a film with her daughter as she felt that Esha would be unfairly compared to her. But seeing the state of Esha's career, she changed her mind and agreed to do a PNC film opposite her daughter. Now, that film has been called off. So Hema decided to do the next best thing and produce and direct a film for Esha. This project has been on for more than a year now and it has still not taken off. Rekha was asked to step in and play Esha's mother in the film and Hema was to produce and direct it. But now the problem is that they are not finding a suitable hero for the project. Most of the Bollywood heroes are shying away from the project as it is a woman dominated subject. With two actresses in the film and a third directing them, they reckon they will not have much of a role to play in the movie and hence are staying away. So Hema's indulgent mother act has failed to take off.
