The Union of Lighting Technicians is unhappy about the salary fixed for them by the Producers Council. There are about 24 unions in Kollywood; every film made in Kollywood is dependent on their members. Every year, the Producers Council holds a meeting with these unions and revises their pay scale; most of the time, the meeting ends peacefully and every one is content with the outcome. But the annual meeting between Producers Council and Lighting Technician's Council held recently did not have a happy ending as the lightmen were highly dissatisfied with the salary fixed for them. They have demanded a further increase. A second round of talks will be held shortly to sort out the differences.
