As a PYT (pretty young thing), with stars in her eyes, never would Kangna have imagined that she would ever get a chance to work with one of her most admired actors, Hrithik Roshan. After GANGSTER, her detractors criticized her for her dress sense and drawling accent, although everyone acknowledged her acting capabilities, with some even going to the extent of calling her the new tragedy queen, a la Meena Kumari.

However, two unsuccessful films later (WOH LAMHE and SHAKA LAKA BOOM BOOM) she was once again written off and was more in the news for her off screen deeds. Yet again it was her GANGSTER director, Anurag Basu, who gave Kangna a new lease of life (and presented her in a completely different light from her screen image) with LIFE.....IN A METRO. And it appears that Anurag considers Kangna her lucky mascot because he has been solely instrumental in giving Kangna her first big break opposite Hrithik Roshan and International star, Barbara Mori in Filmkraft's KITES.

Naturally Kangna is on cloud nine. Recalling the events, Kangna says that one fine day Anurag called up and asked her if she was interested in working opposite Hrthik Roshan. Kangna could not believe her ears as she thought that it was some sort of a prank. But when Anurag reassured her, she agreed delightfully. She then met the producer, Rakesh Roshan and was given a bound script (although she did not demand it) and thus her wish of working opposite super hero, Hrithik Roshan came true.
