Madhavan has been at the receiving end of a lot of compliments following the commercials that he has done with Vidya Balan for a mobile service provider. Most people have commented favorably on the existing chemistry between Vidya and him. But now it seems that the bigwigs are noticing him as well.

Madhavan has always been known as a very talented actor but with the Mumbai film industry generally preferring to ignore him, he has made quite a name for himself down south. His mentor, Mani Ratnam's Guru featured him in a small role, which nonetheless got him noticed. Now it seems that Karan Johar has signed him on for his film, My Name Is Khan, which stars Shah Rukh Khan and Kajol. Apparently, Madhavan has been signed to play SRK's brother in the movie. People have often commented on the similarities between the two actors. Maybe that is what prompted Johar's choice. But with this film, the actor seems set to move into the big league in Bollywood.
