Chiranjeevi addressed the media in his party office at Jubilee Hills at 2.30 p.m. yesterday (August 17th). His fans gathered in large numbers outside the party office and cheered their leader.
Chiranjeevi made it clear that certain decisions on some delicate issues could not be taken individually. There should be a scientific study and a decision would be taken collectively by the party, because there will be a democratic system within the party too.He would explain everything at the party meeting slated at Tirupati on August 26, the birthday of Mother Teresa.
Chiranjeevi expressed the wish that he wanted to see his state as 'Santosha Andhra Pradesh' or 'Chirunavvula Andhra Pradesh'.
When asked about his rivals in politics, he said, 'I have no rivalry with any one. Because I got inspiration from everyone. Moreover, I am a novice to politics and have no enmity with any party.' When asked what kind of support he was expecting from the industry, Chiranjeevi said, 'I was in the film industry for almost 30 years. All those who know me will definitely support me.' When asked about some artistes joining other parties, he says, 'Each one has his own interest and we can't blame some one.'
Chiranjeevi also announced that there would be adequate representation of women in the party, as he got support from women during his film career. On being questioned who would be his political mentor, Chiranjeevi replied, 'I have learnt from everyone. I am a student forever. It is the people who taught me everything. They are my mentors.' On the occasion, Chiranjeevi thanked thespian, N.T. Rama Rao, who showed the path by joining politics after a long career in films.
On being questioned how he could survive because he is a novice to politics, Chiranjeevi replied, 'People always welcome freshness. When I joined the film industry, there were several heroes and artistes. If I feared to join the film industry, I would not have this stature now. People also welcomed me and took me into their lap, as they noticed some freshness in my dances, fights etc.'
About his quitting film industry, Chiranjeevi evaded a direct answer. However, he made it clear that he did not want to ride on two boats at a time. At the same time, he declared that he was ready to act in a film which he feels is useful to the society and could convey a good message. He said, 'I am always an artiste. So far, I lived in different character. But the people drove me to play another character which is live. I should invariably live in the character to render justice to society.'
