Director Shimit Amin, who made it big with his first film Chak De India, which he directed for the Yash Raj banner, is now all ready to direct his next film, for the same banner. It took him a while to move on to his next project but now it seems that he is good and ready. However, this time, there will be no big names like Shah Rukh Khan in his project.

In fact, if reports are to be believed, then the director will be signing on Ranbir Kapoor and the Saawariya girl Sonam Kapoor for the lead roles in his next. The actors are believed to have given their consent. But since Shimit is still working on the script, it is yet not known when the film will hit the floors. Ranbir and Sonam will be trying hard to prove that they are a hot enough jodi, specially since no director has so far wanted to cast them together, following the dismal showing of Saawariya. There were also rumors of the two having split up but if they are working together, then probably things are fine between them. Speaking to Sajid Khan on his TV chat show recently, Ranbir is believed to have said that Sonam and he were good friends and that she was one of the women he would love to go out on a date with. The list also included Sharon Stone. Guess things are okay between Sonam and him then. This will be Ranbir's second film for the Yash Raj banner, while it will be the first for Sonam, who was being considered by Aditya Chopra for his Rab Ne Bana Di Jodi.
