Most actors have been turning producer these days. A daring few like Aamir Khan have even turned director. So it was probably to be expected that actress Kareena Kapoor would follow suit as well. Her boyfriend Saif Ali Khan has just turned producer.

Kareena's move will probably make her the first heroine to take this step. The film is expected to be directed by Lucky Singh, a close friend of the actress, who had earlier directed Kareena in Kyaa Love Story Hai, which had her doing an item number, It's Rocking. The film starred Tusshar Kapoor and Ayesha Takia in the lead. Kareena's item number in the film eclipsed the two leads and topped the charts. But to come back to her maiden production venture, the film will naturally star her as the heroine of the project. The male lead is yet to be finalised. The project is being backed by Eros International and is expected to take off early next year. But of course, there has been official confirmation as yet from the horse's mouth as the actress is busy shooting in Venice.
