Doctors treating Amitabh Bachchan at Lilavati Hospital have said that the superstar is in a stable condition and is recovering well. The exact nature of the ailment is not known but the doctors did say that if the actor continues his swift recovery, he could be discharged in a few days time.

Bachchan was admitted to hospital on Saturday, on the occasion of his 66th birthday, following complaints of acute pain in the abdomen. Bachchan was initially rushed to Nanavati Hospital and then shifted to Lilavati where is currently under observation. His family wife Jaya, son Abhishek, daughter Shweta and daughter in law Aishwariya has been with him all through along with close friends like Amar Singh and Anil Ambani. According to sources, the actor is said to be suffering from sub acute intestinal obstruction. There has been a wave of anxiety in the industry as well. The actor has quite a few projects lined up, like Leena Yadav's Teen Patti, some portions of Sujoy Ghosh's Aladdin and Shoojit Sircar's Shoebite. He is also committed to projects by Sanjay Leela Bhansali, Ravi Chopra and Rakesh Mehra. His wellwishers from the industry like Tinu Anand and Ram Gopal Verma visited him on Sunday. Actor Sanjay Dutt, who is in London, is believed to have rung Abhishekh Bachchan every hour to check on the Big B. His sister Priya Dutt was also one of the visitors to Lilavati on Sunday.
