Amitabh Bachchan is responding well to treatment, said doctors attending on him at Lilavati Hospital. The actor, who was admitted to the hospital on Saturday following severe abdominal pain, is said to be in a stable condition.

Bachchan was admitted to hospital on Saturday, on the occasion of his 66th birthday, following complaints of acute pain in the abdomen. Bachchan was initially rushed to Nanavati Hospital and then shifted to Lilavati where he is currently under observation. His wife Jaya, son Abhishek, daughter Shweta and daughter in law Aishwarya has been with him all through along with close friends like Amar Singh and Anil Ambani. According to sources, the doctors have conducted certain tests on him and are likely to conduct some more today. The Lilavati doctors were not willing to make any comment on the actor's condition, or the tests that were conducted on him. All that they would say is that the actor is hale and hearty and just needs some rest. There were rumors that the actor's old abdominal pain, caused by his injury on the sets of Coolie had resurfaced. But the good news now is that the doctors have said that he is in a stable condition.
