Indian films seem to be faring very well abroad these days. Ashutosh Gowariker's Jodhaa Akbar has gone ahead and won the Grand Prix award at the Golden Minbar, the film festival for Muslim Cinema which was held in Kazan, Russia.
And if that's not all, its leading actor, Hrithik Roshan was awarded the best actor award for his performance as Emperor Akbar in the historical saga. Jodhaa Akbar is believed to have shared the honors of Best Film along with an Iranian film. There were some 10 feature films in competition at this festival. The other Hindi film which was screened at this festival was Samar Khan's Shaurya. Last year, Nagesh Kukunoor's Dor had won an award at this festival last year and this year was the turn of Gowariker and his epic, which won not one but two awards. Of course, neither Hrithik nor Gowariker could attend the festival. The actor is busy with his latest film, Kites, a home production, while Gowariker too is busy working on his next project, 'What's Your Rashee?'
