The Lamha unit has been having a tough time indeed shooting in Jammu and Kashmir. The latest is that the unit will now shift to the calmer and more peaceful environs of Manali.
Even though the unit is being provided security by the cops and army officials, it was not enough to reassure Bipasha Basu, who left the shoot midway. It seems that even after Bipasha's sudden departure, the security personnel reassured producer Bunty Walia of their full support and did everything to convince him to stay back and shoot in the state. But according to reports, even actor Sanjay Dutt has flown back to Mumbai and the unit is said to be shifting to the safer Manali. The unit braved hostile crowds in JandK before Bipasha decided it was too much to handle and flew back home. Incidentally, Sanjay was supposed to land the next day and she was supposed to shoot her scenes with him. Director Rahul Dholakia and Walia had initially decided to shoot 40 per cent of the film in JandK in a three week long schedule. But it seems that they have not even been able to complete 10 per cent of the shooting due to the unruly, hostile crowds. Now the unit is all set to move to Manali. A major portion of the film will, however, be shot in Mumbai's Film City, where a huge set is being erected.
