Remakes in Bollywood never enjoyed the taste of success, except Sanjay Leela Bhansali's cult classic remake DEVDAS. Most of them failed miserably at Box-Office making it clear that audiences will not accept them just because they are remakes of Bollywood classics. Here's a sneak peek over some remakes of Hindi classics which failed to leave any mark as its originals did.

KARZZZZ: Despite of having a good publicity, being numerologically accurate, good music and Himesh Reshammiya factor on the forefront this remake of 80's Rishi Kapoor starrer KARZ could not leave upto its hype and bombed at Box-office.

RGV KI AAG - This remake of the all time Block buster movie (Ramesh Sippy directed) SHOLAY was the most disastrous remake film ever made in the history of Hindi cinema. Even before the film hit the screens it was being touted as a flop work.

UMRAO JAAN: The much anticipated remake by J. P. Dutta starring Aishwarya Rai Bachchan and Abhishek Bachchan was a total washout at the box office - critics panned it for being a big yawn. The new, glossy UMRAO JAAN could not reiterate the magic which was immortalized by Rekha in the original movie.

DON: Farhan Akhtar's attempt at remaking the 1978's hit action film DON was not that bad. Though many felt that it lacked the soul and earthiness of the original starring superstar Amitabh Bachchan but at the end it could rake in some good money because of its contemporary and stylish packaging, good music and finally Shah Rukh being a part of the movie. The movie was an average fair.

VICTORIA NO. 203: This remake sank without a trace. Infact many were not even aware about this remake being made. It was another huge setback among the remakes made in Bollywood just like RGV KI AAG.

In spite of the fact that most remakes didn't work and faced a poor response overall, the filmmakers don't seem to be affected by it and are continuously churning out remakes year-on-year. Reportedly remakes of AMAR AKBAR ANTHONY, Feroz Khan's yesteryear superhit film QURBANI and Amitabh Bachchan starrer all time hit SATTE PE SATTA are in the pipeline.

Hope these and other remakes do break the jinx and successfully dish out best of the yesteryear films for the entertainment hungry audience!
