Lamhaa seems to be plagued by problems. Producer Bunty Walia and director Rahul Dholakia have now compromised and erected a set in Film City, where art director Wasiq Khan has recreated Kashmir. But it seems that another of his plans seems to have been foiled.
It seems that the producer and director wanted to import some hundred odd Kashmiris to people the sets of the movie, thus lending it authenticity. But the plan seems to have been foiled by the junior artistes association, after whose vociferous protests, the plan was dropped. The makers have spent crores on erecting the set in Mumbai after their shooting schedule was cut short by unruly crowds and security problems in Kashmir. It first lead to leading lady Bipasha Basu leaving the schedule midway, and then the entire unit packed up and came back to Mumbai. Well Bipasha is still in the movie, she plays a Kashmiri girl, but problems keep cropping up in the making of the film. Dholakia is doing his best to recreate the Kashmiri flavour of the movie and has got Shernaz Vahnwatti, who did the costumes for Tahaan, to do the same for his film as well. She will be doing the costumes for the junior artistes, who will now have to be from Mumbai.
