Finally, the phenomenon that is Amitabh Bachchan is being given its due place. The Osian Centre for Archiving, Research and Development is holding an exhibition titled 'Bachchanalia' at NCPA's Tata Theatre in Mumbai.
The exhibition will comprise of hand-painted posters and images of this icon of the Hindi cinema. The exhibition will have on display posters which will chart the actor's journey from his kurta clad days of Anand to the angry young man of Deewar, Zanjeer, Sholay and Don. His not too recent past will be covered with posters from films like Eklavya and Bunty Aur Babli. Adding to this, biography on the actor has also been commissioned. The book is titled, 'Bollywood is Bachchanalia: The Films and Memorabilia of Amitabh Bachchan. It will be authored by Sheena Sippy, Jerry Pinto and Bhavna Somaya. The book will be high on pictorial elements and interesting snippets from the actor's films and other trivia. By capturing the phenomenon that is Amitabh Bachchan, the writers have managed to capture the essence of the last 40 years of Hindi cinema, with its changing trends.
