This was one of those quiet weeks with no releases. But what has been making waves at the box office has been Ghajini and its phenomenal collections.

This Aamir Khan starrer is being touted to be the one of the biggest hits of the year with fantastic collections. But the fact which is little known is that the film comes with a very hefty price tag attached to it, literally speaking, of course. Hence, it will take quite a lot for the film to break even. Studio 18 had brought the India and satellite right of the film at a price of Rs 60 crore. But even though the film has had a fantastic opening, according to trade circles, its collections have been dropping every day. Ghajini has done the best in Mumbai. But the collections in the city itself have dropped by 30 to 40 per cent. Outside Mumbai, the film's collections in the second week have been half of what it touched in the first week. Jumbo, the animation flick promoted by Akshay Kumar, has had quite a miserable run. Rab Ne Bana Di Jodi seems to be cruising along with fairly decent collections in its fourth week. This movie is doing quite well in Mumbai and Delhi. The next week is full of releases with four films set to test their fate at the box office. The films are Rohan Sippy's English movie, the President Is Coming, Horn Ok Pleasssss, Bad Luck Govinda and Kash… Mere Hote.
