On Friday, 'Shankardada Zindabad' was released all over the world amidst great fanfare. The fans were eager to watch their beloved Megastar in the role of the adorable Shankardada.
The film is now on top of the box office charts in its first week at the theatres.
But there seems to be mixed reports and rumors of nervousness as far as the film's future at the box office is concerned.
On Saturday, the state had to deal with a crippling strike called for by the Communist Party. Anticipating trouble, weekend filmgoers stayed away from the movie-halls. Though the theatre owners deny it, many claim that it had severely affected collections, which should have been higher compared to what it is now.
There are now talks that persons close to Chiru are making special efforts to make the film run packed houses atleast for a while. The film sure will comfortably recover its costs, but his fans expect a blockbuster hit from him.
If the film doesn't become a blockbuster, it is going to drastically affect Prabhudeva's career as a director.
