At the same time, Nandita Das is acting in 2 Malayalam films. One film is by cinematographer/director Santosh Sivan's 'Before the Rain.' The other film is by Adoor Gopalakrishnan.
Both are art films and one always associates Nandita Das with art films. But she says she loves commercial films as much as art films. Of late, she has been acting in many films. She plans to become a director, so she is doing many films.
"I have worked with some of the best directors in India. If I do an assistant director's job, then I can soon direct a film myself."
She feels she will have no obstruction in her work if she herself produces the film she is to direct. And she is acting in lot of films to save money to produce her film.
