It must have been more than 20 years and the Khiladi of tinsel town never got a single award for any of his film but the year 2009 seems to shine upon him. With the start of 2009 Akshay Kumar not just bagged the Star Screen Award for the Best Actor, The FHM Style Icon Award but also the Padmashree Award. When asked Akshay on how he felt on receiving such a prestigious award, he said that he never expected an award like this and he has no words for his happiness and was overwhelmed for it. Akshay not just welcomed this surprise award with open arms but also did not forget to thank his audience for recognizing his work and loving him unconditionally. The day was special as it just didn't make him feel proud of himself but also of his 6 year old son Aarav, who completed 1.5 km marathon in Juhu. Akki promised to deliver his best performance as he has always done, which has been the core reason he had achieved such a prestigious award. Akshay also wished to be thankful to the two most important people in his life, first being Mr Pramod who not just gave Akshay his first break but also taught him how to survive in this industry and the importance of being punctual, second person whom he deeply thanked was his father.
